Graverobbing Bears Terrorize Russia

The Guardian reports that a lack of food around the Arctic Circle has forced bears to dig up graves in nearby Russia -- and eat the corpses!

The article begins with the delightful image of what looks like a large person in a fur coat mourning over a grave...

...only to turn out to be a BEAR! A big, hungry bear eating the dead body!

This incident happened in the northern republic of Komi, near the Arctic Circle, and it is apparently not an isolated case. Reports of overturned tombstones and half-eaten corpses strewn over the grounds are common in the area.

But don't worry, the Russian government is on the job: drafting legislation to kill the bears during the winter months. When all they really needed was a sandwich or picnic basket.
